Staff Wine Picks Tasting: Friday, August 12 6-9 pm

Come visit us this FRIDAY to sample what we are into this week:
La Pepiere Rose’ 2015 – Loire Valley, France
A delicious rose made from Cabernet Franc and Cot (French Malbec). You may recognize the label from two weeks back when we tasted out their Cabernet Franc rouge. This organic, minimal intervention rose has a deep orange/garnet color, medium texture and a savory quality. Lovely and lively fruit of red currant and raspberry while still having great citrus and delicate rose petal hints.
Organically farmed
Regular price: $16
6 bottles (10% discount): $14.40
In a mixed case (15% discount): $13.60

Pajzos Tokaj Furmint 2014 – Tokaj, Hungary
We don’t generally see Hungarian wines, especially not this delicious so we are excited to get your feedback about this white wine. Furmint is the varietal name (“Mosler” in Austria) from the Hungarian word “froment” for wheat – due to its golden color. It has been compared to Viognier and Pinot Gris for its fresh citrus and toasty and floral aromatics. This Tokaj is clean and crisp with flavors of lime, apricot, apples and grapefruit – bright and zesty! Also, expect a soft texture and warm nuttiness with savory and spicy white pepper. Unique and refreshing!
Regular price: $13
6 bottles (10% discount): $11.70
In a mixed case (15% discount): $11.05
Full case (20% discount): $10.40

Chateau la Canorgue Luberon Rouge 2014 – Rhone valley, France
This is a very classic Kaia pick, a big and bold red from Luberon. If you know you love spicy, deep red wines then you definitely will want to try this one. This blend of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mouvedre is full and dense with dark red fruit and berries. There are meaty, gamey flavors with fresh, wild herbs and ripe tannins. Round and powerful, the perfect wine pairing with roasted lamb and herbs.
Organically farmed
Regular price: $19
6 bottles (10% discount) : $17.10
In a mixed case (15% discount): $16.15
